The AZDBA was formed in 2003 by community members from diverse professions and ethnicity.The Arizona Dragon Boat Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; whose primary mission and purpose is to promote the sport of dragon boating through community involvement and education for the state of Arizona. We promote leadership and team building through the sport of dragon boating. Which at the same time that by it’s nature promotes health, team building, and diversity.AZDBA has been recognized for its diversity efforts and awarded the organization diversity award by the City of Tempe, in recognition of the community work of it’s members.

We support and stand up for our community, our over 100 members come from all walks of life, they are Breast Cancer Survivor, Disabled and Special Needs community members, High School and Collegiate athletes, and everyday people that wants to make a difference.Our members range from age 14 to 65 and over, so come on in and join the team.

AZDBA is also a part of the Pacific Dragon Boat Association USA, whose mission is to promote the sport of dragon boat racing and foster national and international dragon boat competition, and also part of the International Dragon Boat Federation, which acts as the representative bodies for the Dragon Boating and enacts international rules and regulations and organizes dragon boat championships for their member associations.

The Bay Area Dragon Boat Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and our primary focus is dragon boat paddling and racing.  Our racing team is known as the Bay Area Dragons (a.k.a. BAD).  We have some of the most experienced dragon boat paddlers in Northern California.  Formed in 1996.

The Berkeley Racing Canoe Center was formed in January 2004 for the purpose of promoting international dragon boat competition and providing water access and educational opportunities to the Berkeley and East Bay communities.

Bridge City is a competitive Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Club in Portland, Oregon. Never paddled before and want to try it? We welcome anyone with a competitive spirit and interest in working hard on and off the water. We paddle hard and we work hard to give back to the community.

In 1996 a handful of paddlers came together with the vision to build an organization to foster the growth and development of dragon boating in the San Francisco Bay Area. Each had little experience in starting up a non-profit organization most were relatively new to the sport themselves. With only commitment and their faith in dragon boating becoming a great activity for the community they moved forward to promote a sport people knew little about in an area already saturated with team sports.

Started by a small group of 2011 Team USA U23 members, California U23 aims to build and provide a collegiate program for advanced paddlers. Collegiate dragon boat has grown tremendously in the past decade, producing high caliber crews with outstanding athletes. The United States has the talent and ability to race competitively in international U23 divisions. We would like to unify that talent and take it to the next level.

After a year of growth and support, Central Coast SurviveOars is joining Team Survivor San Luis Obispo. Our goal is to include all women who have survived all types  of cancer. Team Survivor is a national organization dedicated to “foster and promote exercise opportunities for women affected by cancer” (www.teamsurvivor.org) Dragon Boating is both fostering and promoting.

Established in 2004, Davis Racing Dragons is a student-run, collegiate sports club at the University of California, Davis. Our season usually starts during February and ends mid-November, so most of our races are during the summer. But as a regular club, we have socials and events throughout the entire school year. We travel as far as Long Beach to compete. Either way, DRD has gone through legendairy exponential growth rates these past 6 years, and it’s all uphill from here!

The purpose of the Kent Dragon Boat Association is to promote the tradition and sport of Dragon Boating for all people regardless of their physical abilities. The teams promote good sportsmanship and synchronized teamwork to perform at their highest level of ability.

Kaiser Permanente Northern California’s first dragon boat team ever was started in 2001. We are a non-profit organization. We are a diverse group of Kaiser Permanente employees who have a passion for one of the fastest growing water sports in the world! We represent different facilities throughout the Bay Area (Regional Offices, Program Offices, Richmond, Oakland, Walnut Creek, KP School of Allied Health Sciences, Livermore, Hayward). We are about lasting friendships, food, fun, meeting new challenges and now raveling. We welcome any Kaiser employee who wants to have fun, build long-lasting friendships and eat! As KP Dragons, we paddle and THRIVE…!

In 1996, there was a group of parents and their children from the Pomona Valley Chinese Association. Placing 3rd overall in the 1st Annual Viewsonic Long Beach International Dragon Boat Festival sparked an interest in the group to grow and start an official racing team, the Los Angeles Racing Dragons. In 2003, LARD was approved for 501©(3) Federal Non-Profit Status and helped found the Los Angeles Pink Dragons (LAPD), an all breast cancer survivor crew – officially joining the organization in 2004.

Welcome to the Home Page for the North Puget Sound Dragon Boat Club, the Premiere Dragon Boat Club on Whidbey Island. The NPS Dragon Boat Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Membership is open to the public.  Our mission is to promote the physical, social, and emotional benefits of dragon boating.  It has been shown to be especially beneficial to cancer survivors and our cancer survivor team, the Seavivors, have won first place in races at Bellevue and Portland. Our members come from all over the North Puget Sound area to include; Everett, Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Seattle, Camano and Whidbey Island. They come for “Fun, Fitness and Friendship”.

The Oakland Renegades dragon boat team was born April 1st, 2009 and is a collaborative effort by the Oakland Parks and Recreation Department and a group of paddlers from the dragon boat community. Our goal is to promote the sport of dragon boat racing, become an increasingly competitive team at the many races during the year and to have as much fun as possible doing it. We invite the public to come join us for practice sessions at the boat house on Lake Merritt.

Organization Oyster Point Dragons (OPD) is a nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes within the meaning of IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). All OPD officials, board members, team members, and paddlers are volunteers, and no one receives compensation.

Dragonboating. Three minutes of absolute perfection in form, focus and physical, energetic unison, 22 people on a 44-foot-long boat. Hours of practice at ridiculous times, whatever the weather. Driven, dedicated, and determined. The world’s fastest growing, most popular team sport, with over 2500 teams and 75000 members – and right here in Salem, the dragon has bitten 22 people. Those people are the members of the Peace Dragon Warriors, Salem’s premiere dragon boat racing team.

Pink Phoenixâ„¢ is the United States’ first dragon boat team consisting solely of breast cancer survivors. Our mission is to enhance breast cancer awareness and to provide hope for survivors that there is quality life after breast cancer. Our purpose is to demonstrate that special quality of life; to promote wellness, fitness, fun and camaraderie through dragon boating; and to provide social, emotional and spiritual support for breast cancer survivors. With media recognition and public visibility, Pink Phoenixâ„¢ strives to provide hope to those newly diagnosed and to serve as a reminder to women to have mammograms regularly and to do self-exams. Early detection is the best fight against breast cancer.

We are a team unified in our drive to work hard and achieve the goals we set each season. Since our team formed in 2003, we have focused our efforts to learn as much as possible about the technical sport of paddling. We push ourselves and each other to be stronger paddlers and teammates. None of this would be worth it if we didn’t enjoy spending time with each other. We regularly lift a pint or two together after practice, gather for brunch on Sundays, and have built strong friendships both on and off the water.

We’re a San Francisco Bay Area paddling, fitness, and activities club made up entirely of dynamic, young, and young-at-heart free spirits who live to have fun, exercise, eat well, paddle hard… and then eat again. The Salem Multicultural Institute and World Beat Festival® were created to promote an environment of openness for all people. The mission of the San Diego Alliance for Asian Pacific Islander Americans (“the Alliance”) is to build community through communication, collaboration & celebration of the cultural heritage and diversity of our Asian Pacific Islander American (“APIA”) communities, and to advocate for APIA rights and empowerment through service, education and philanthropy.

The San Diego Dragon Boat Club hosts several teams that successfully compete in local, national, and world championship events. Included are men and women paddlers in  every age division from juniors to grand masters as well as specialized teams including college students and cancer survivors.

The San Francisco Dragon Healers were established in 2005. Their mission statement: To promote the sport of Dragonboating, To promote goodwill in the dragon boat community, To promote diversity within the team, To represent Kaiser-Permanente’s “Thrive” message.

The Seattle Flying Dragons are folks who enjoy getting out on Lake Union to paddle.  For those unfamiliar with the sport, dragon boating is a boat of 20 paddlers, a drummer, and a steersperson paddling to cross the finish line faster than their competition. It’s a team sport in its purest form that encompasses the elements of power, speed, synchronization, and endurance.

Seattle SAKE is a national and international dragon boat organization that promotes the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of dragon boating to the community at large.

Club Goals:

• Support amateur dragon boat athletes for training and competition
• Create a sustainable dragon boating Club in the Seattle area
• Promote the physical, social, and emotional benefits of dragon boating
• Provide safe training, advocacy, and opportunities for paddling enthusiasts
• Build relationships with the community and other paddling Clubs

The Space Dragons are a Southern California-based Dragon Boat racing team comprised of a diverse blend of fun-loving paddlers spanning all walks of life. We are unified in our enthusiasm for the sport, great workouts, intense competition, and most importantly, our love for the team and our teammates. Simply having fun and helping one another live happy and healthy lives is what we are about.

By becoming a member of the evolving Tacoma Dragon Boat Association (TDBA) you can participate in our ongoing practices, races, special events and outings, or just getting together for fun, excitement and adventures. Trips, events and races around the Pacific Northwest, up and down the West Coast or around the world. It’s totally up to you. Dragon Boat racing is the fastest growing team sport in the world, with over 50 million paddlers and growing.

Wasabi is Portland’s largest dragon boat Club, with with over 300 members.  Founded in 1993, Wasabi participates in dragon boat and outrigger canoe races around the world. We come from all ages and stages of life, but we find great joy in being on the water with one another.  There is a team for everyone, from the novice paddler who is just learning the basics of the sport to the most competitive athlete who races at international venues.
Wasabi membership is comprised of Portlanders of all abilities and physical fitness levels. Teams range from recreational to competitive, including specialized teams like the Wasabi Special Dragons and Wasabi Team SOAR, a women’s cancer survivor team.

The Washington Dragon Boat Association was formed in 2004 by a group of individuals who were looking for a recreational paddling experience that also offered opportunities to race in a variety of dragon boat races. The organization and its members own four, 20 paddler Swift Dragon boats and one, 10 paddler Swift Dragon boat, affectionately called “the baby boat”! WDBA is a non-profit (501 c 3) organization headquartered in Tacoma.  Our mission is to promote local, regional, national and international amateur dragon boating participation and competition.  In celebration of the cultural diversity of Washington and the Pacific Northwest WDBA presents and participates in other activities that foster community involvement and cross cultural awareness and understanding. Be sure to join us annually on the second Saturday in May for our Rainier Dragon Boat Festival!
