Boathouse project open house
Come share your thoughts & learn more about a proposal to replace the existing paddling facility in Southeast False Creek with a permanent home near Creekside Community Rec. Centre. It’s a good chance for you to make suggestions on what you’d like to see in both Phase 1 (the dock and on water storage for small equipment and boats), & Phase 2 (bigger boathouse with offices, washrooms & showers, meeting space, work-out room, and even a “social spaceâ€)

Addressing an immediate need, a cash contribution for a Phase 1 floating and transportable Paddling Dock Centre to be constructed on the south shore of False Creek will provide much needed dock space, equipment and boat storage as well as essential service s for the 5000 paddlers and other non-motorized activity. Phase 1 is anticipated to be constructed in 2015. The balance of the $2.8 million from this rezoning will be held in reserve for future water based recreation projects…

The second of 3 events featuring our mini dragon boats in 2014. Teams can expect fun and challenging racing formats for this event. Teams that race in all 3 events will be qualified to vie for a series championship on October 4th in downtown Tampa, as well as receive a 20% discount on the series finale.

Seattle Dragon Boat Festival
The 11th Annual Seattle Dragon Boat Festival is scheduled for July 19th, 2014. More than 10,000 spectators will line the shores of South Lake Union to cheer on approximately 1000 local and visiting athletes. On shore an exciting lineup of professional entertainers will perform from the Seattle Dragon Boat Festival Stage. Artisans will demonstrate and display their crafts and there will be plenty of hands-on activities for visitors of all ages and abilities.
