Look at the boards placed about the room, and write on the forms of your support for the re-zoning proposal of 998 Expo, that includes $4.2 million dollars in “community amenity contributions” coming directly to the building of new docks, on water storage and boathouse, to be built in two to three stages.

Come share your thoughts & learn more about a proposal to replace the existing paddling facility in Southeast False Creek with a permanent home near Creekside Community Rec. Centre. It’s a good chance for you to make suggestions on what you’d like to see in both Phase 1 (the dock and on water storage for small equipment and boats), & Phase 2 (bigger boathouse with offices, washrooms & showers, meeting space, work-out room, and even a “social space”)

Addressing an immediate need, a cash contribution for a Phase 1 floating and transportable Paddling Dock Centre to be constructed on the south shore of False Creek will provide much needed dock space, equipment and boat storage as well as essential service s for the 5000 paddlers and other non-motorized activity. Phase 1 is anticipated to be constructed in 2015. The balance of the $2.8 million from this rezoning will be held in reserve for future water based recreation projects…

Ticket price includes fabulous food, wine from Artisan Wine including award winning Siren’s Call and other beverages from Granville Island Brewery.
