2015 Oriental Indoor Dragon Boat Festival

Come and Race in the FIRST Indoor Oriental Dragon Boat Festival. We promise,
good food, safe paddling, and a WET BUT FUN event. To date, annually, this event
occurs in Winnepeg and Manitoba Canada, but THIS is the “FIRST TIME” for a
United States Indoor Dragon Boat Festival and Race. It only makes sense!
Oriental, the Orient of Eastern North Carolina it is said that dragons live.
It is the place where you would expect to find a “battle of the paddles” in a
dragon boat in a SWIMMING POOL of water between two teams of paddlers.
It is something that has to be seen to be believed!! Paddlers in the Indoor Canada
races say it is a great experience. It’s a chance to brush up on dragon boat skills,
have some laughs and lead your teams to victory on the water – even if it’s COLD outside!
Each Team will compete in a minimum of 3 heats. The winners of
each category in their respective classes then compete against each
other until an overall winner in each class is determined.
Team Categories:
Mixed: (4 female, 4 male) 1 male and 1 female substitutes
Female: (8 females and 1 female substitutes)
Male: (8 males and 1 male substitutes)
Youth: (8 youth between ages of 12 and 18 and 2 (1 male-1 female)
substitute between ages of 12-18
Senior Team 4 female and 4 male all over age of 55
Pink Teams: (Cancer Survivor Teams Be Mixed, Female or Male Teams with
same numbers of paddlers as shown above)
COST:
Teams: $240
Individuals: $30.00 per person
