SUMMARY:6th annual Montana Dragon Boat Festival
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 6th annual Montana Dragon Boat Festival a familiar\nfun\, spirited competition and colorful pageantry to Volunteer Park on Flathead\nLake in Lakeside\, just 10 miles south of Kalispell. Volunteer Park offers 190 feet of unobstructed Flathead Lake shoreline with spectacular views of the\nMission and Swan mountain ranges. The festival grounds accommodate vendors\,\nteams\, additional activities and entertainment\, and several designated parking\nlots adjacent to the festival grounds offer walkable access to the event for\npaddlers and spectators. The shops\, restaurants and other attractions in\nLakeside will all be within walking distance— providing race attendees the\nopportunity to intimately experience one of Northwest Montana’s most charming\ncommunities. \nReturning teams will find the same camaraderie and\ncompetition plus a new addition in 2017: the Rocky Mountain Championship (RMC)\,\nan invitational race division showcasing top dragon boat teams from the western\nU.S. and Canada in competition for the RMC medal. \nThe event kicks off with a captains briefing on Friday\,\nSeptember 8th in the evening. The race schedule begins at 8:30am Saturday and\nincludes a BCS race and ceremony and a kids’ race. Activities resume Sunday at\n9:00am with qualifying and championship rounds. The day will conclude with a\n2\,000 meter Guts and Glory exhibition race and an awards ceremony.  \n
